The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” – Matthew 13:24-30
We will see who will remain, but fight your hardest to bring as many as you can from the fire. We alone are responsible for our own salvation, we can blame no one else in the end. It is easy to profess Christ to other “so-called” believers. It is easy to sit in a pew and receive a sweetened message once a week. What about when there is resistance? What if you have to struggle to obey the call of Christ? Everyone will be made to give an account of their deeds in the flesh, and all will be given an ultimatum when it becomes too much for the flesh to bear to either surrender their soul to Christ entirely, or give up eternal life and bow before their accusers to prolong their fleeting and false existence. The end of days is coming and is even at the door. I plead with you and pray in tears as I have feared for mine own self. Do not be like Esau who for fear of starvation gave up his birthright to eat a bowl of soup. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. If you believe in God believe He is also able to fulfill the purpose He created you for despite your circumstances. So I warn you of the flood to come, not so that you fear without cause, but so that you may have time to prepare an ark to escape and have this rest and peace of mind within you. Not a physical ark, but a spiritual one built of God’s word and truth that cannot suffer due to the laws of nature. Reside within this sanctuary of the Most High and warn as many as are outside His ark, that they too might be counted among the saved. Is what is upon your lips the same that will be revealed in your heart? For all that is within the heart will be revealed when put to the test. When the flood came in the days of Noah, the ark’s door was sealed. The whole world outside who thought they would be secure without heeding the call to repentance, pounded on the door pleading to be allowed entrance, despite Noah for years before the flood pleading with them to turn from their ways, they mocked.
I ask not accusingly, but genuinely that you would have certainty in this answer; will you be found in the ark or outside it on the day of wrath? Do not tempt the Lord, you will be found trembling without recourse if you do. Just as Noah was among eight who survived this worldwide catastrophe and entered into the new world, none but those of a saving faith will enter the Kingdom of God and His rest to come. If it be that the righteous were scarcely saved, rest assured that no evil, no wickedness, no selfishness or pride, or anything of the kingdom of darkness will ever enter again into the new creation of light. Turn from these things, hold onto not even a crumb; for the Son of God is coming for a bride without spot, wrinkle or blemish. If His requirement is such, then He has also provided the means for it to be achieved, believe on Him who has made you for such a perfect end.
“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.”[1 John 2:19]
Those who abandon ship merely reveal they never had a true and living faith to begin with. Leave the interpretation of the scriptures up to God, and lean not on your own understanding to merely gratify temporal and fleshly comforts. It is written, “those who endure until the end shall be saved.” We are in a race, a war even, men die in war regularly. We must run to the finish avoiding all traps, even when the arrows are flying by our faces. We must know that the one who has commissioned us would not have done so if He did not have the resources or intend to complete what He started within us. Thus, even when the pain rends, the doubts fluster, the winds whip with might, as long as you continue on with all of your effort, He who dwells in Heaven shall mount you upon eagle wings, He will cause your countenance to shine through the darkness like the sun, and silence the winds and rain with a rebuke. We are nearing the end of the race my friends, praise our God that redemption draws nigh. Let us accomplish as much in Him as we can while there is still light, seeking His face daily in one accord.
“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?”[James 2:14-16]
Faith in the Holy Spirit or the Flesh
A true faith is drinking of the cup of Christ and eating of His flesh. To taste of His goodness is not enough, but in partaking of His sufferings daily and not just His earthly blessing we have entered into His rest. A true and living faith will spur action, just as true love spurs sacrifice for another. If I say I believe that my provisions will be met by God and yet I do not even give my surplus to those who are in genuine need, I lie. But if I truly trust in His word I will be fruitful as the Word says I will be, attempting to bring many others to faith until the end, and sharing all that I can knowing what will remain in the end. But if the faith of a man is in his flesh and the seen things, it will be made apparent by His fruit; anger, emulations, bitterness, and ultimately struggle with various lusts and sins. It is revealed that in times of stress his belief of God’s love for him strains, looking only at the condition of the material world around him as the meter for God’s love. Remember, God too entered into this world and was tempted at every point in the same kind of flesh you currently live within. When this world’s suffering is truly temporary remember that it is for an eternal reward and that not only did Christ too suffer for righteousness, but so do your brethren around the world in many manners. Do not turn to temporal satisfaction in your struggles thinking you are overcoming them and lose this reward. Lean not to your own understanding and in all things trust Him with all of your heart. He will see you through, your character will be built when you pass the test and your joy will return to you 100 fold after your tears are wiped away.
To The Light Sinners
Some pleasure seek saying “everything in moderation”, and outwardly doing minor good works to compensate for their unrighteousness, saying, “God loves us all and died to forgive us.” He balances on the edge of a knife, hoping to have the best of two worlds, and yet obtaining neither. Not that there is not hope for Him, God is merciful, but in the end unless he submits all unto the Lord of Hosts, his heart will be hardened by the pain of life and given over to numbness in due time. We must ask ourselves in this world of excess and abundance if we are trying to live for this world and the pleasures therein and the hope of Heaven at the same time. Have we become lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God? One cannot stand at the top of a fence for long before the fence begins to wain, and the leg muscles falter from the balancing act, eventually by the current of the wind he is bound to fall to one side or the other. Rather than tempt God and His mercy, choose this day which side you will remain upon.
To the Abusers of God’s Love
Yet many of those who claim faith in Christ have become like gold diggers, ‘married’ to Christ for personal gain, able to be healthy and wealthy, yet willingly ignorant to the truth of human suffering around them when it is inconvenient to them that they may maintain such things. Committing adultery with the world, compensating their faith, and the truth for acceptance and fame. Harlot church, you even lead your youth astray. Love God in action and in truth as you would your spouse, and provide an example to your young as would a good mother. Lay down your life for your Husband as He has for you and do not even look upon another with lustful eyes, lest you be caught and given over. We know the pattern of this world, it’s end is destruction, it casts away its lovers after it defiles them, to the soul it is unfulfilling, and to the heart delayed poison. But God will never leave or forsake you, in His presence is fullness of joy, His love is an everlasting fire, His mercy endures forever, and in His right hand are pleasures forevermore. Let no one come in between your marriage with HIM. Even now in this life such freeing delight of truth can be experienced amidst the trials, turn back to the one that is worthy of your admiration, and seek reconciliation with Him.
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.”[2 Corinthians 13:5]
If you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting, fear the Lord and depart from iniquity. If you are honest and contrite of heart to confess and turn from your sins, He is righteous to forgive you. If you trust in His ability to deliver you and cause you to stand, run the race as one intending to win the prize, and He will see you through to the finish.
“Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ unto repentance, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”[Acts 2:38]
There is a day coming when the rains will come, and will fill the world to the brim. Who will be able to stand? No one is exempt my friends. The prideful will be and self-assured will be utterly destroyed, but those that trust in the Lord will not perish, for they trust not in the works of their hands which are like stubble to the flame, but in the eternal promises of God that stand forever. Look the rainbow still remains in the skies, as a remembrance of the covenant between God and man, and all prophecy He fulfills, He is not like a man that He should lie. Behold, He goes to prepare a new Heaven and a new Earth, one of peace, goodness, infinite bliss, rest, where no pain or sadness will reside but where the glory and love of the Father is witnessed and partaken of at all times. Don’t store up your treasures here in exchange for the true ones. The ones who live and walk according to His Spirit in this life, these are the wheat that shall be gathered into this place and preserved forevermore.
Much love in Christ. Let us wage a good war in Spirit; love in action and in truth, being deeply genuine in concern for one another’s souls, and encouraging one another not with sweet honey alone but also with savory salt, and the grace of aloe. We know what applies to us, let us not take offense to truth, but merely examine your heart and see if anything be lacking, if so ask the great physician to fill it with what is needed, that we be found as the wheat, ready to be gathered into the Father’s storehouse. Amen
“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
