Fear of Missing Out

It is better to fast than to eat, to mourn than to be merry, to die in Christ than to live for self. You think that you will miss out on the things of this world when in reality you will miss out on eternity. There is judgement coming, if you do not prepare for it in fear of missing out in this life, you will miss out on the next when sudden destruction comes upon you. Ignorance to obtain bliss, you will be left devoid of truth and therefore peace, fulfillment and purpose.

The higher the towers we build unto heaven the further we sink into hell. The more of man’s tradition we conform to, the less control we allow the Holy Spirit. The more physical and material dependency, the less God’s power will be manifest. We lack faith and exchange virtue for comfort. We exchange trusting in Yah to provide for us with our own ability to provide for ourselves through ‘Biblical principles’. Is the appearance and taste of fruit more important than its nutritional content? Take a shiny store bought apple. Waxed nearly flawless outwardly, but watery and without depth of flavor, lacking the richness of mineral that is obtained from a deep and thriving root system. We must be like the seed planted deep into the soils of affliction and brokenness, that our roots would be built up in character and depth in the rock of our salvation. We have traded appearance, convenience and quantity for character, intimacy, and quality. Because of this no matter how much our children eat they will starve and die, their flesh will grow thick, but their organs will fail and bones will break from lack of sustenance. What I speak of in truth is the sweet message that is preached in the pulpits today, fattening the masses for the slaughter. Even now the storms rage in the distance and the preachers say “peace, peace there is no danger.” WAKE UP! They blaspheme in every nicety they proclaim from their mouths, warming the hearts of the hearer, and moderating the love of God.

As it is written in the book of Revelation, “And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” (Revelation 3:14)

Repent and their souls shall be made fat on the truth and word of God, inspiring jealousy from the godless, and true joy in the bosom of the Father. Do not be so fearful of leaving your pews unfilled that you miss out on giving them the truth that will save them. It is better to have led one sheep home than to have wasted your entire life trying to herd goats.

Stop holding onto this life and trying to live for God at the same time! Do not heap to yourself pleasure in this life, lest you miss out on that of the next. For it is written, “but she who lives in pleasure is dead while she lives.” (1 Timothy 5:6) God will spew the lukewarm believer from His mouth as He gave warning to the Church of Laodicea, and this same warning is highly relevant to the Church of today. This is not a message to discourage you, this is a message to encourage you to not fear missing out on anything but eternal life for any reason including the petty distractions, deceptions, false doctrines, temptations, and light and temporary affliction of this present age. Offer yourself up to the God of your salvation as a living sacrifice as He did for you. Seek His face with all of your heart with weeping and mourning while He may be found. Hearken unto His call and voice, be obedient to His Holy Spirit and be no longer enslaved to your own flesh. You are a servant to whoever you obey, therefore signify whether you are you are living unto God entirely or the world entirely, take your pick its one or the other. “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all else shall be added unto.” For it is written, “the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.”

How earnestly do you desire to live? Surviving is not living, blissful ignorance is not living. He who saves his life shall lose it, but he who loses life for Christ’s sake shall gain it. Whoever desires life must live in the light of truth. For Christ being the light of the world and truth being that He is the very Word of God came to give us life, and a life more abundant, anything outside of this life being spiritual death and emptiness. We run from this truth because accompanying it are the hardships of a broken reality. Yea, having peeled back the plush veil of deception that has been plastered over our eyes we see the darkness and the light, the vile and the wicked, our downfall and shortcomings, the hardship and suffering. But this is a necessity in order that restoration may be made; for the transgressions of this age must be acknowledged and the power of God mustn’t be denied if we are to be those who participate in overcoming them. If you do not face reality and delve into the depth of truth, you will miss out on the richness found therein and at the end of all things you will lose your life as a whole. Do not fear losing the temporary but rather the eternal. Trust in Christ with all of your heart and you shall have no need of fear of missing out on anything for you shall have all the desires of your heart as you delight in Him. Glorify His name, do no face regret, there will be weeping and gnashing and teeth, but the Lord God will wipe away every tear if you allow Him.
